I have had quite a few jobs in my time. The first paid job I had (if you don't count gardening on the weekend to earn some pocket money) was working in the John Rostrons & Sons paper mill in Selby, Yorkshire, where my father was a senior manager. I worked there while was still at school, during the summer holidays. It was my job to fetch carts full of waste paper from the waste paper storage facility and deliver them to the pulping machines.
The photograph shows me in my last job, as a full time lecturer in information technology and computing for Plymouth College of Further Education (PCFE), now renamed as City College Plymouth. This is the only photograph I possess of me in a workplace setting, and shows me sitting in a staff office which was shared with three other lecturers.
