The Christmas tree is always installed a day or so before Christmas Even, and decorated on Christmas Eve morning, usually by Gatti.
Christmas was very much the same as always. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are spent at home. Dinner on Christmas Eve is usually goose legs, red cabbage and potato croquettes with onion gravy. Dinner on Christmas Day is goose legs (again) but this time with roast potatoes, brussel sprouts, roast parsnips and more onion gravy.
After two glasses of port, it's time for a selfie. With silly hats, of course. Or is that Mrs. Santa and her house-elf?? (Just call me "Dobby" - someone throw me a sock!)
Every year on Boxing Day we go to Bergerdorf for Brunch with the family (Detlev, Wendy, Sammy and Elinor). It's become a kind of a family tradition now.
