Dad's Short Stories

Dad wrote four short stories, which we present here. Two of the stories are tales of the supernatural - "The Ghost of Anglesford Church", a ghost story that is undoubtedly based on St. Peter's church in Aylesford where both my parents were choristers, and "The Strange House Plant" which recounts the creepy events that follow the strange arrival of said house plant.

"The Old Painting" is a light-hearted tale of a treasure hunt triggered by the passing of an aged relative and the subsequent reading of his will. "Tilly the Tugboat" is a heart-warming story for children of all ages about the fluctuating fortunes of an ageing tugboat.
