Toward's the end of his life, my father wrote a short novella - "Wilkie's War" - about his experiences during the Second World War and the years immediately before and after that chapter in history. Although the account was semi-fictionalised, it is completely based on real people and events. I was aware of the book for some time before my father passed away due to the fact that I assisted with getting it published online, as well as having a number of hard copies printed.

Unbeknownst to me, and probably my brother as well, Dad had also written a number of poems and short stories over the years, which only came to my attention after he died. These works were never published as far as I know, although they may have been circulated to a small number of friends and relatives. In any case, I think he would be pleased if they were to gain a somewhat wider readership, so I am publishing them here for posterity, together with his novella.
